We have her drink oat milk and then she still eats dairy yogurt, cheese, etc and that works pretty well to manage her dry skin.Īs for my 4 week old - she is EBF. 2- AB+ is NOT the rarest blood, but it is the 'universal acceptor' because it can take A and B. Only worry if the mother is - (negative) and the father is + (positive). It only concerns the + and - markers (called antigens). I don’t think this is blood type related.Īs for my kids - my 2 year old has dry skin that pretty reliably flares up with the more dairy that she eats. 1- this blue baby phenomenon has nothing to do with blood types A, B, AB, and O. I do suspect it is either dairy or gluten flaring up my eczema but have also read it can be foods high in nickel. I have been meaning to try an elimination diet to try and figure out the cause but haven’t gotten around to it with back to back pregnancies. My eczema got better for most of my adult life but has recently flared up. I do have eczema that I do think is diet related. Personally I haven’t noticed any difficulties with digestive issues and eating animal protein or dairy. She is very particular about eating for health to this day. Its worth knowing that, in rare cases, maternal blood can be incompatible with babys blood, leading to complications if blood is mixed during pregnancy. My mom didn’t have us stick with it and I would imagine that was because she didn’t notice any benefit. ![]() ![]() ![]() This can cause a range of health issues for. When there is a blood type mismatch in pregnancy, a mother’s immune system may begin to destroy her baby’s red blood cells. Mothers with Type O-negative blood are most at risk for ABO incompatibility. When I was about 10 my mom read that “eat right for your blood type” book and we followed that diet for awhile (I do think it was vegetarian but I don’t 100% remember). ABO incompatibility in a newborn happens when a mother and baby have incompatible blood types. I’m O negative as is my mom and both of my daughters. ![]()
